This exhibition features work from artists in the GMA’s permanent collection. The pieces selected represent Eastern North Carolina. They vary from seascapes to portraits in order to capture the spirit of the land.
Eastern North Carolina is a distinctive region with a rich history and sense of community. Each piece embodies an aspect of the locale by depicting an element that has helped to shape its culture. The imagery showcases buildings, industries, landscapes, and people that make the region unique, many created by artists who are native to Eastern North Carolina.
